How Does the Vinted Fees Calculator Work?

TThe Vinted Fee Calculator by Vendoo is a free tool designed to help Vinted sellers understand their earnings, account for shipping costs, and price items accurately before listing.

Because Vinted’s fee structure is very different from other resale marketplaces, many sellers assume profit is always straightforward. In reality, shipping responsibility, regional rules, and optional promotional costs can all affect what a seller actually earns. Vendoo’s

Vinted Fee Calculator brings those variables together in one place so sellers can evaluate pricing clearly and confidently.

Using the calculator is simple, just enter:

- Region: Where your account is registered
- Seller Type: The type of account you have.
- Item Sale Price: Enter your item’s sale price.
- Item Cost: Add your cost of goods.
- Shipping Charge: Enter the shipping amount paid by the buyer.
- Shipping Cost: Input your actual shipping cost.

Once these fields are completed, the calculator automatically displays estimated earnings, net profit, and profit margin. This allows sellers to adjust pricing before listing instead of discovering reduced profit after a sale.

Vinted Fees Explained

Vinted’s fee structure is simpler than many resale platforms, but it is still important to understand how costs are applied and who pays them. Below is a clear breakdown of Vinted fees:

No Selling Fee for Sellers

In most regions, including the U.S., Vinted sellers do not pay seller fees. This means there is no commission taken from the item price by Vinted, and sellers earn the full sale price, subject only to optional shipping discounts and promotional features.

Because seller fees are not deducted automatically, sellers must be especially careful when offering free shipping or paying shipping costs themselves.

Buyer Service Fee

Vinted charges a buyer service fee that is paid entirely by the buyer. This fee is not deducted from the seller’s earnings and does not affect the item payout.

The buyer service fee helps cover platform operations and buyer protection. It is currently $0.70 plus 5% of the item price at checkout. Since this fee is buyer-paid, it does not need to be included when calculating seller profit.

Vinted Shipping Label Options

Shipping on Vinted depends on region and selected shipping partners. In most cases, the buyer pays for shipping, and the seller receives a prepaid label through Vinted.

Vinted sellers can choose to offer free shipping, which means the seller pays the shipping cost instead of the buyer. When free shipping is offered, the shipping expense is deducted from the seller’s earnings and directly reduces profit.

Optional Extras and Promotions

Vinted offers optional paid features designed to increase visibility, such as bumps or promotions. If using promotions, the promotional costs are paid by the seller.

- Vinted Bumps increase exposure by placing listings higher in search results. These features are not required to sell on Vinted. Sellers can choose bump durations for a set number of days.

- Closet Spotlight (also called Showcase) is a paid promotional feature to increase visibility for multiple listings or your entire Vinted wardrobe. Sellers must meet any item-count requirements and pay a one-time fee to activate for a spotlight duration.

Both features are paid upfront and are not contingent on a sale. Sellers pay the promotion cost regardless of whether it results in a sale, and the fee is not deducted from item earnings. When used, promotion fees should be treated as a business expense.

In short, Vinted sellers keep 100% of their earnings, unless they offer free shipping (and the shipping cost is deducted from their earnings).

Example Profit Calculation

Consider a typical Vinted sale to see how fees add up.

This suit sold for $55. The total buyer cost is $58.45 plus shipping and the seller's earnings are the full sale price of $55 (minus cost of goods to determine profit).
